Meet Dr. Magruder
Dr. Sonia Magruder is passionate about creating confident, healthy smiles and takes great joy in her work as an orthodontist. She moved to Houston in 2006 to attend the University of Houston, where she graduated as valedictorian with a bachelor’s degree in biology. During her undergraduate studies, she completed two summer research internships at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, focusing on molecular and cell biology.
She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, where she received the prestigious William S. Kramer Award of Excellence. Dr. Magruder then completed a two-year residency at the UT School of Dentistry, earning both a certificate and a master’s degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
She is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Ninth District Dental Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Magruder and her husband Jeremy enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with their two sons, Benjamin and William.
